What is a waste generating company?  

A waste generating companies are companies or public authorities that hand off their waste to separate facilities or third parties. Waste disposal facilities that consign their waste to separate facilities or third parties for disposal are also considered waste generating companies. Waste generating companies can only hand off special waste or other waste subject to regulatory controls to waste disposal companies that hold a waste disposal licence (Art. 4 para. 2 OMW). They must be able to provide cantonal authorities with proof that their special waste has been handed off.
