Fees

For registration of the frequency use, the fee is CHF 70.00
For allocation of a call sign, the initial administrative fee is CHF 110.00
The annual administrative fee, starting the year after allocation, is CHF 50.00

Notify radio equipment for inland waterways communications in order to obtain the corresponding licence (ship station licence incl. call sign and ATIS code).

This notification entitles the holder to use radio equipment for inland waterways communications on the Rhine or other rivers in Europe. It concerns fixed and portable VHF and radar equipment. OFCOM issues the ship station licence for all ships registered in Switzerland.

The notification concerns, among others, fixed and portable VHF equipment and RIS/AIS equipment. According to international practice, VHF devices may only be used in commercial shipping. The use of VHF equipment requires a certificate of competence. The exams are organised by OFCOM.
